Cessna with two Bainbridge Island residents crashes in Lewis County; no injuries reported

Two Bainbridge Island residents went uninjured after a Cessna plane crashed around noon in Lewis County on Tuesday.

The aircraft, carrying an 18-year-old pilot and 27-year-old passenger, crashed off Forest Road 23 into the Cispus River in Randle, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to the crash, the two occupants reported engine trouble at approximately 4,000 feet.

The incident is being referred to the Federal Aviation Administration for further investigation…
