Most of the immediate Arklatex area is in for some potentially damaging weather over the next thirty six hours.

In a Flood Watch issued by the National Weather Service in Shreveport, we learn that through Tuesday evening, portions of Louisiana including Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Red River, Natchitoches, Webster and many other parishes along with Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Shelby and several other east Texas counties, are under a Flood Watch due to potential flooding from excessive rainfall.
The National Weather Service warns that the weak surface front that has moved into the Arklatex will remain stationary through Tuesday and the area is in for periods of showers and thunderstorms, some containing heavy rainfall.
One to three inches of rainfall is expected over the hours of the watch, with isolated higher amounts in excess of five inches possible, much of which could fall in an extremely short period of time.
