SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Edduin Silva, 22, of Shreveport, has been convicted in the 2023 shooting death of Amaya Jacobs, a woman prosecutors said he knew.
A 12-person jury in Caddo District Court deliberated for less than 15 minutes Wednesday, July 8, 2026, before finding Silva guilty of second-degree murder in Jacobs’ April 26, 2023, slaying.
Police said Jacobs, 35, was driving near Fairfax Avenue and Morningside Drive in the Caddo Heights neighborhood when she was shot multiple times in the face. Investigators testified Silva fired 13 rounds at her with a .22-caliber AR-style rifle.
