Shreveport police arrest 1 in deadly shooting of Shreveport teen

SHREVEPORT, La. – After working nonstop throughout the night and into the day, members of the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit have made an arrest in the shooting that claimed the life of 13-year-old Sha’michal Russell and injured two other juveniles.

Detectives arrested Javieon Abbott on a charge of second-degree murder. Additional charges against Abbott are expected in the coming hours as detectives continue working through the evidence gathered during this investigation, SPD spokesman Cpl. Chris Bordelon said Tuesday night in a news release.
