Norwegian news correspondent visits Shreveport to observe crime, police response

SHREVEPORT, La. – A reporter and photographer from Norway spent time in Shreveport this week observing local crime conditions and law enforcement response as part of a broader look at public safety in the United States.

Ingeborg Amundsen, the U.S. correspondent for Norway’s largest news outlet VG, said the visit was focused on understanding domestic violence trends and recent violent incidents in the community.

“We came here because we wanted to do an in-depth story on domestic violence,” Amundsen said. “We’ve heard that the rates are increasing and that the society here is seeing more issues with that.”…
