WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police said that a 5-year-old boy died after he was pulled from the Anacostia River on Thursday.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said officers responded to reports of a boy spotted in the river off of Anacostia Park in the 1900 block of Anacostia Drive, SE, just after 6:20 p.m.
At the scene, the boy was found unconscious after being pulled out of the river by family members and good Samaritans.
