Montgomery County school employee accused of recording teen in changing room released on bond

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A man accused of secretly recording a teenage girl inside a high school changing room has been released on bond ahead of his next court date, officials said.

James Mulhern III, a former media technician at Walter Johnson High School in North Bethesda, is charged with sex abuse of a minor. He is accused of recording a student while she was in a state of undress in a girls changing room near the school’s theater.

According to court documents, two students discovered a camera memory card in a theater control booth at the school. Investigators say the card contained video that appeared to show a man placing a camera inside the changing room…
