WASHINGTON (7News) — Another very hot day is expected on Wednesday before a major pattern change arrives late in the day. Highs once again climb into the low to mid 90s, with a few upper 90s possible for some. Reagan National will be close to its record high of 96 degrees, while Dulles could challenge 93.
The First Alert Weather team is on a WEATHER ALERT on Wednesday as a cold front moving in from the west will trigger more widespread showers and thunderstorms from mid to late afternoon into the evening hours. Some storms may become strong to severe with damaging winds and hail, the primary concerns, along with locally heavy rainfall.
