$5M to support Sioux Falls airport expansion

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — $5 million in federal dollars are headed to the Sioux Falls Regional Airport to support construction and upgrades as part of its multi-phase expansion.

On Saturday, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced $970 million would be distributed to 133 airports across 45 states through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act – Airport Terminal Program (ATP). Of that, $5 million is going to the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.

Dan Letellier, executive director of the Sioux Falls Regional Airport, said the overall project carries a $120 million price tag and includes several funding sources.

“We’ve broken it up into numerous phases. This will help with a lot of the interior work that needs to take place here in the next five to six months,” Letellier said. “It helps with nursing rooms, family bathrooms, and overall interior finishes that make up the whole.”…
