SPOKANE, Wash. – Two individuals were arrested on August 8 on multiple felony charges for fraudulently using a credit card that belonged to people displaced by the Eagle Rock Apartments fire which ignited on July 26, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).
SCSO said the victims informed that they received a text alert from their bank inquiring about recent charges totaling more than $680, and the cardholders contacted their bank to report fraudulent charges. They said the credit card was stolen from their apartment, which was damaged by the fire. SCSO said the victims believed a computer worth around $500 was also stolen.
After obtaining video footage from stores where the fraudulent charges were made, SCSO deputies identified two suspects and developed probable cause to arrest them, the department said…
