PHOTO EYE: VISIONS OF A VINTAGE FUTURE
Chris Bovey and his wife, Liz Bovey, paint a “Trade Winds Motel” sign on part of a large-scale mural in what is set to become “Vintage Alley,” on Wednesday, July 29. The project, a partnership between RenCorp Realty and Urbin Developments, is going up in Railroad Alley, between the Norman and Jefferson buildings, which are being refurbished into apartments.
Ultimately, the plan is to also hang vintage neon signs in the more welcoming alley space, designed by Olson Projects. First, the mural is going up on a nearly 300-foot wall, and string lighting will help illuminate the area.
