Spokane County recognizes professional services with National Public Works Week

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – The Spokane County Commissioners proclaimed May 17 through May 23, 2026 as National Public Works Week.

“This week recognizes the dedicated Public Works professionals who focus on infrastructure, facilities, and services that are of vital importance to sustainable and resilient communities, and the citizens of Spokane County,” county officials said on Tuesday.

In addition to managing the county’s Water Reclamation Facility and Regional Solid Waste System, Public Works personnel managed over 5,100 miles of paved and gravel roads, 158 bridges, and solid waste services for 122,000 tons of garbage as well as 37,000 tons of organics during the year 2025…
