Lynn’s Table in Spring launches GoFundMe to help sustain restaurant

A longtime Old Town Spring restaurant is asking for donations to help keep its doors open. The owners of Lynn’s Table announced on Monday that they had set up a GoFundMe page. All total, the restaurant needs $7,000 to sustain its staffing, operating bills, inventory, necessary repairs and other essential expenses—all while chef and co-owner Matthew Lynn faces significant medical needs.

“Asking for help isn’t easy, but we believe in this restaurant, the people who make it special, and the future we’re working so hard to preserve,” Matthew and Jessica Lynn’s statement read. “If Lynn’s Table has ever been a place where you’ve enjoyed a meal, celebrated a milestone, or simply felt at home, we hope you’ll consider supporting us. Every contribution, no matter the size, would mean so much. If you’re unable to give, sharing our story or keeping us in your prayers would be just as appreciated.”

When a Facebook commenter suggested Lynn’s Table try changing up the menu, its prices and vendor contracts, Jessica said they had been doing so for years. Asking the community for help was “one of the hardest decisions” she and Matthew have made.

“What you may not know is that significant health challenges have also contributed to the difficulties we’ve faced. Not every challenge a small business encounters is visible from the outside, and not every solution is as simple as it may seem,” Jessica said…
