U.S. Supreme Court grants Craig Wood extension of time for appeal

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield man convicted of killing 10-year-old Hailey Owens in 2014 was granted an extension of time to file a petition for a writ of certiorari by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Craig Wood was sentenced to death after being charged with child kidnapping, rape, and first-degree murder in 2018. He is challenging the denial of his post-conviction motion to have his death sentence overturned.
