Springfield’s Elevate Lives apartment expansion on hold after Gov. Kehoe restricts $3.5M in state funding

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -Gov. Mike Kehoe’s decision to restrict $3.5 million in state funding has put part of a Springfield nonprofit’s affordable apartment expansion on hold.

Elevate Lives, which operates out of the former Robberson Elementary School, provides transitional housing and support services to families working toward stable, independent lives.

What is a funding restriction?

A government funding restriction is a legal limit or condition placed on the allocation, use, or availability of public money.

These restrictions dictate who can receive funds, what the money can be spent on, or what behavioral standards recipients must follow.

First phase of construction to proceed
