Landlord sues Springfield restaurant for failing to pay rent

A Springfield real estate company is suing fast-food franchise Beef-A-Roo for not paying rent at one of its locations. This is the third case involving Missouri locations.

RYDE It Real Estate LLC, which owns 3312 E. Chestnut Expressway, is suing Elysian Capital LLC, the investment company that owns Beef-A-Roo, for allegedly failing to pay rent and founder and CEO Jeffery Love for breaching a guaranty agreement. RYDE It Real Estate LLC claims that Beef-A-Roo owes at least $63,845.33 in unpaid rent.

Previously, the property was owned by HJH Premium Chestnut LLC. In September 2023, RYDE It Real Estate LLC accepted the assignment of and assumed HJH Premium Chestnut LLC’s obligations set forward in the lease. In October 2024, when RYDE It Real Estate LLC took over the lease, Love agreed to guarantee Beef-A-Roo’s obligations under the lease. According to the filing, Beef-A-Roo was acquiring the premises in an asset purchase “and the lease was an integral part of that ‘deal.'”…
