I just came across this fascinating video feature shared by Kirsten Dirksen on YouTube. As of this writing, she has over 2.15 million followers on YouTube and I can understand why with this look she shared of an underground home in Springfield, Missouri.
Part of the interesting backstory of this Springfield, Missouri underground home is that it withstood an EF-4 tornado that plowed through that neighborhood. The video description says November of 1990, but I’m pretty sure they’re referring to the November 29, 1991 EF-4 twister that the National Weather Service says left “Extensive damage to homes and businesses was reported. 2 deaths and 64 injuries were directly related to the tornado”.
