On Your Side: Springfield woman, almost burned to death, pushes for statewide domestic violence offender registry

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A Springfield woman is fighting for change after her husband nearly killed her. Antonio Draper was convicted of first-degree assault for setting Hannah Kendrick on fire while she slept nearly 20 years ago.

“Within just a split second of realizing that I smell and taste gas, that Antonio is at the end of the bed. I can just see his eyes so big and dark, just evil. Then the bed just went up like a barbecue pit,” said Kendrick.

Kendrick says she quickly threw off her comforter, but it was too late…
