Carl Foltz ran down a hill and jumped a fence before hiding behind a piece of tin. K9 Officer Ghost spotted him and his handler gave him the command to find Foltz. Ghost caught Foltz, but Foltz escaped by punching and kicking Ghost and ran across a frozen creek. Ghost caught him again, this time biting his leg to keep him still.

Foltz began punching and kicking Ghost again, according to court documents, at which time Ghost’s handler caught up with them, and “provided a closed-fist strike to Foltz’s face” to stop him from hurting Ghost further.

Other deputies arrived and helped handcuff Foltz while Ghost maintained a controlled bite on his lower leg. Foltz was taken to the Probation and Parole Office. He is charged with third-degree assault and first-degree property damage.
