Monday, February 5: Spring fever may return again later this week

We hit the jackpot all of last week and despite our brief losses this weekend more sunshine and 60s are lining up for this week.

Temperatures will dip quickly tonight as a surface high moves in from the west and it looks like a frosty start to Tuesday. Morning lows will generally dip into the upper 20s and low 30s, but it’s the kind of morning where the valleys and river bottoms will likely drop even lower.

There’s also a signal for some fog, mainly west of Hwy. 65.

Sunshine will be abundant again Tuesday with most spots getting close to 60°. Areas along and west of Hwy. 65 should manage to get into the low 60s.

Wednesday looks even warmer, but also a little cloudier as waves of high cloudiness spill across our skies.

A storm system will track to the northwest of Missouri through Nebraska and Iowa providing a slight chance for sprinkles or light showers Thursday. Timing of the clouds Thursday will be key to how warm we can get. At this time it looks like clouds may clear out enough Thursday afternoon for a run at 70° west of Hwy. 65. Slight cooler air will slip in for Friday. The day looks bright and mild with highs in the 60s.
