Amazon driver could get 10 years for stealing terrier

Amazon’s catchphrase simply states Work Hard. Have Fun. Make History. Delivery driver Holly Marie Clements lived up to it February 7 while delivering a package at the residence of Alma Garcia in Greene County. No one knows if Clements worked hard that day or had fun. But the Waynesboro woman definitely made history. The Amazon employee allegedly picked up Garcia’s 1-1/2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier after dropping of the package. She turned, got back into her van, and took the dog to her home in Waynesboro. How did law enforcement know who took Luli? Garcia had cameras set up around her front yard and the film captured Clements in action. The video proved sufficient evidence for Greene County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kasie Breeden to locate Clements – with help from Amazon superiors – who was able to retrieve the dog and return it to the Garcias. It also led to Clements’ felony arrest Monday for larceny of an animal. A Class 5 felony, Clements could receive up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Out on bond Clements has a scheduled appearance in Greene County General District Court on Wednesday for arraignment.
