86-year-old driver hospitalized after vehicle crash in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Troopers were dispatched to a crash involving a woman with serious injuries in Springfield on Sunday, May 3.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report, an 86-year-old Springfield woman was injured around 10:25 a.m. on Kansas Expressway south of Farm Road 132 on Sunday.

Law enforcement states the incident occurred as the woman was driving a 2013 Toyota Rav4 south when she crossed into the opposite lane, resulting in a 15-year-old Nixa boy in a 2017 Ford F250 striking her vehicle head-on.

MSHP says the woman was transported to Cox South Hospital for her injuries…
