Approaching storm to drive temperatures above freezing, with rain and snow expected

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Temperatures continue to steadily warm across Southcentral Alaska with daily highs two to three degrees warmer than the previous afternoon. This steady climb in temperatures will stay with us into the weekend, as an approaching storm system drives in even warmer conditions. With active weather set to kick back into high gear for some, rain and snow can be expected into the weekend. A winter weather advisory has already been issued for Turnagain Pass for Thursday evening into Friday. The advisory that goes into effect at 6 p.m. is for up to 14 inches of snow and winds gusting as high as 40 mph. If you have any travel plans south over the next few days, be prepared for hazardous driving conditions and limited visibility through the pass.
