During Thursday night’s Sun Belt Conference game between South Alabama and Arkansas State, a side judge created an unexpected moment of his own.
Late in the first quarter at Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the score stood tied at 7-7 after Arkansas State answered an earlier South Alabama touchdown. The ensuing kickoff went to South Alabama’s Keenan Phillips, who returned it 100 yards for a touchdown to put the Jaguars ahead 14-7.
