Defense attorney says unconstitutional DCI sports gambling investigation opens door for civil lawsuits

DES MOINES, Iowa — Defense attorney Alfredo Parrish has experience representing college athletes in criminal cases. You don’t have to be a law scholar to see problems with the DCI sports gambling investigation, Parrish said.

“The public doesn’t realize how bad this is,” Parrish said. “The more they see through news reports…they’ll see.”

Parrish has not represented any of the 15 student-athletes charged in the DCI sports gambling investigation which began in early 2023.
