HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Areas near and west of highway 281 are seeing widespread dense fog. Some of that fog extends into Northeast Nebraska. Meanwhile, southeastern areas from around Grand Island and Hastings eastward are enjoy a decent amount of sunshine to start the day. As the day goes on, the fog should gradually burn off. But at the same time, those with sunshine will be seeing some increasing clouds. There could even be some drizzle in the afternoon. Winds will be increasing out of the east and southeast, up to around 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 25 mph. Despite the increase in clouds, temperatures will climb. Part of this is because of the increase in low-level moisture moving in later today. For most, highs will get into the 50s. They may remain in the 40s up north.
