STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— It has been decades since 10-year-old Lorraine Pacifico was preyed upon and murdered within walking distance of her Staten Island home. But her family has not forgotten.

Keith Vischio, 66, is serving 20 years to life for the grisly 1980 murder that left friends, family and neighbors shaken. Vischio is up for parole again this month after being denied more than a dozen times.

In past parole proceedings, Lorraine’s brothers gave victim impact statements. But with the death of one of her brothers, the family’s fight has become a generational effort…
