FDNY: 1 person taken to hospital after flipping car on Staten Island Tuesday

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One person was taken to the hospital after a car flipped and was seriously damaged near an exit ramp of the Staten Island Expressway Tuesday morning.

The crash was first reported as an overturned vehicle at 5:50 a.m., near School Road and Tompkins Avenue in Fort Wadsworth, next to the Lily Pond Avenue exit ramp of the Staten Island Expressway, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY.

One person was taken by EMS to Northwell Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, according to the spokesperson.
