STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Members of the New York Police Department were recognized for acts of heroism Wednesday during the Police Officer of the Year Awards Ceremony and Luncheon at the Vanderbilt in South Beach.
Commanders, lieutenants, captains, officers and auxiliary members from Staten Island’s four police precincts were present as honors were bestowed upon colleagues who bravely saved lives, responded to calls and stopped illicit activity.
