STATEN ISLAND (PIX11) – Staten Island’s flag, once flying at City Hall, could soon become official by law.
On Monday, a City Council committee will consider the cream-colored flag with Staten Island’s seal for New York City’s forgotten borough. The new bill would codify the flag into law, but it is already standing across Staten Island.

The flag features the borough’s seal, a green, white and yellow depiction of a woman with a downturned sword and shield. She is looking out at a large ship and a smaller boat with people in it.
