STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— Weeks after a major narcotic sweep on Staten Island, a residence on the South Shore tied to the investigation was still buzzing with activity, prompting concerns among neighbors about the alleged drug den.
In early August, authorities announced the arrests of several individuals as part of “Operation Richmond,” an undercover case centered around an alleged drug ring tied to multiple overdose deaths on Staten Island.
Part of the investigation focused on a one-story standalone residence on the 3700 block of Richmond Avenue in Eltingville, where narcotics were being distributed out into the community, officials said.
“After multiple fatal overdoses on Staten Island, our investigators did what they do best: got to work and identified those responsible for harming our communities,” said Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch in announcing the arrests. “We will not allow drug traffickers to flood our neighborhoods with these dangerous narcotics without consequence.”…
