STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Staten Island Mall Greenmarket is scheduled to open June 6 as GrowNYC marks the 50th anniversary of its farmers market network, which connects city residents with regional farms.
The opening is expected to proceed as planned while final contract details are finalized, according to GrowNYC. This season will feature special programming, cooking demonstrations and a traveling exhibition celebrating five decades of fresh food and community connections.
The anniversary coincides with an expansion of GrowNYC’s year-round market system, which will double in size beginning May 2 as seasonal locations open across the five boroughs.
