Police: New York man fled into Schuylkill River while trying to escape arrest

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, SCHUYLKILL CO. (WOLF) — A New York City man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he fled from officers, crossed the Schuylkill River, and resisted arrest during a chaotic pursuit Wednesday night in Schuylkill County.

According to court documents, 34-year-old Yensy Rafael Santana Alvarez was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, and multiple counts of reckless endangerment following the incident in Schuylkill Haven.
