A driver was killed when their car split in half in a crash, according to New York State Police.
Troopers said they responded to a report of a one-car motor vehicle collision Monday on the Northern State Parkway westbound near the New Highway overpass, exit 46, in the Long Island town of Smithtown. Police said a 2010 Volkswagen Eos was found split in half around 8:30 p.m.
