Syracuse, N.Y. — For generations of families in Eastwood and Syracuse’s eastern suburbs, summer meant a trip to Harry’s Sweet Treats for soft serve, hard ice cream and a conversation with owner Harry Leonardo.
Now, after 38 years in business, Leonardo has decided it’s time to retire.
Harry’s Sweet Treats, located at 1400 Burnet Ave., has permanently closed after Leonardo, 81, sold the longtime ice cream stand four weeks ago. He said health problems earlier this year helped him realize it was finally time to step away…
