Syracuse, N.Y. — The United Way of Central New York has cut funding to dozens of community agencies as it stares down a shortfall of at least $1 million.
“We are as frustrated as anybody at the reality of the situation, but it’s also imperative that we preserve the long-term financial viability of the United Way,” said Ryan Benz, chairman of the United Way of CNY’s board.
