Syracuse landlord ‘flagrantly’ violated lead paint settlement, New York AG says

Syracuse, N.Y. — The New York Attorney General’s Office is asking a judge to hold a Syracuse-area landlord in contempt of a 2024 legal settlement related to lead paint violations.

The office filed a contempt motion on Wednesday against William D’Angelo, a Liverpool resident the AG sued three years ago for lead paint issues at rental properties, including some where children were poisoned.

D’Angelo was supposed to have independently monitored inspections done and any lead paint violations fixed at 22 properties by December 2025…
