Liverpool man becomes first U.S. patient to receive newly expanded Pluvicto treatment at AMP

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Central New York man is now at the center of a major milestone in prostate cancer treatment.

85-year-old Paul Perry of Liverpool, N.Y. is the first eligible patient in the United States to receive the newly approved indication for the targeted therapy Pluvicto. On July 31, the Food and Drug Administration approved Pluvicto combined with androgen deprivation therapy and an androgen receptor pathway inhibitor, specifically for patients with positive metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer.

“Dr. (Christopher) Pieczonka and Dr. (Steven) Finkelstein said I was a candidate for this. So it was on a Friday that they approved it, the following Monday I was in the room getting the shot in my arm. So I am hoping for the best. I really am.
