Onondaga County is being accused of trying to pry $1 million from the Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.
According to leaders from the nonprofit, Onondaga County officials had asked them to donate $1 million to the county’s new aquarium, currently under construction.
The request was ultimately turned down, but the Friends group says the relationship between the two sides has been hostile ever since, even asking for changes with their Memorandum of Understanding, which has been under negotiation for more than a year without a finalized deal…
