Father of man who killed officer, sheriff’s lieutenant pleads guilty to weapons charge

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Joseph Murphy pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in Onondaga County Court on Thursday morning, the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office said.

Murphy is the father of Christopher Murphy, the man who fatally shot Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen and Onondaga County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Michael Hoosock on April 14, 2024, in the Town of Salina.
