Village of Camillus receives $4.63M county grant for revitalization projects

CAMILLUS, N.Y. — Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announced $4.63 million in funding to revitalize the Village of Camillus on Monday.

The county funding it part of the county’s “Main Street Revitalization Program.” The initiative seeks to improve the downtown areas of county villages. Specifically, County Executive McMahon said the grant funding will benefit 13 different projects in the heart of Camillus. Businesses are contributing $154,000.

“When we got this job, one of the first things we recognized was the fact that villages are small cities and they have these downtowns,” said McMahon. “We needed to invest in these downtowns just like we invest in downtown Syracuse.”…
