Soundview Little League from Tacoma, Wash. avoided elimination in the Northwest Region tournament to eventually win the regional championship. They got an exciting 8-5 win over Idaho’s West Valley Little League to advance to Williamsport.
A fun fact about the team is that as it has continued to win, coach Mark Landry made the team a promise. If it won, he would paint his nails teal or shave his beard. So, his appearance has changed throughout the run.
Phenix City Youth Baseball Little League is in Williamsport for the first time since 1999. Manager Case Rasmus watched his older brothers and his father win the United States Championship title then. Now, Rasmus’ son, Ryker, and niece, Kinley, are on this year’s roster…
