A public tribute is planned next month at the University of Washington Tacoma for the late W.W. “Bill” Philip, who was a founding father of UWT and co-founded Columbia Bank. He died in August at age 99.
The tribute will be from 3:30-6 p.m. on Oct. 26 — what would have been Philip’s 100th birthday. The program begins at 4 p.m., with a reception at 5 p.m. The event will be at UWT’s William W. Philip Hall, located at 1915 Commerce St.
