Late-night and early-morning Interstate 5 commuters can expect daily lane closures near the Fife curve next week as the Washington Department of Transportation replaces a broken electronic sign.
Starting May 4, contractor crews will begin installing a new variable message sign north of Porter Way, WSDOT announced in a press memo. Closures will stretch on I-5 between 54th Avenue East and Porter Way.
During the weeklong closure, crews will use the time to paint new bridges for the future State Route 167 Expressway over I-5, finish bridge deck repairs and add three new sign structures. Closures…
