The former office manager of a well-known local law firm was charged with stealing almost $100,000 in cash payments from clients.
Cha’Layna Williams, who formerly worked for Tallahassee’s Akbar Thomas Law firm, was arrested on charges of grand theft and fraud and was held in the Leon County Detention Facility as of Sept. 22.
According to court records, Williams held “a position of significant trust,” and the 44-year-old’s responsibilities included removing client payments from the law office’s safe to the bank. Investigators allege that Williams took roughly $91,051.90 in cash…
