Florida is set to receive more than $200 million in federal funding aimed at improving rural health care, but questions remain about how much of that money will translate into direct care for patients in communities where access is already limited.
In Gadsden County, including communities like Quincy, residents can face challenges getting timely medical care. Kena Bwembye, who lives near the Gadsden and Liberty county line, said her son was treated at HCA Florida Gadsden Emergency after he dislocated his shoulder during a wrestling match.
