Hillsborough County Traffic Alert: Prep For Highway, Bridge Closures The Week Of June 14

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation has released its District 7 lane closure summary for the week of June 14 through June 20, 2026. Drivers traveling through Hillsborough County will need to plan ahead to navigate a mix of daytime, overnight, and continuous road construction on major interstates, state roads, and local streets.

Interstate 275 will see heavy nighttime construction across several zones. On the Howard Frankland Bridge between Pinellas and Hillsborough counties, lanes will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Sunday, June 14 through Saturday, June 20. Northbound I-275 from south of Exit 39 to just north of the SR 60 interchange will have closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Further inland, I-275 closures between Willow Avenue and Green Street run Monday through Thursday night from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

On Interstate 75, drivers traveling between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Fowler Avenue should prepare for nightly lane closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. These closures begin Sunday, June 14, and are scheduled to last through Friday, July 17.

Major US routes are also heavily impacted. Eastbound US 92 on the Gandy Bridge and US 92 from the bridge to Dale Mabry Highway will experience nighttime closures from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for most of the week. Commuters on US 41 will navigate daytime lane closures over the Hillsborough River on Nebraska Avenue from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, while the US 41 bridge over McKay Bay will see night closures from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday…
