Detective details Lear brothers’ alleged gang affiliation at murder trial

A Toledo police gang detective spent more than three hours Tuesday presenting evidence that two brothers charged with a 16-year-old boy’s shooting death last year are also members of a violent Toledo street gang.

Detective Nicholas Bocik narrated and explained numerous photos and multiple rap videos linked from social-media accounts belonging to Delveon and Diamani Lear showing them flashing gang signs, posing with guns, and interacting with convicted members of the Body Up Bloods. The gang is linked to several high-profile homicides including a 2022 drive-by shooting that killed a 10-year-old girl.
