Zepf receives $261K to support pregnant, parenting women in recovery

Zepf Center is transforming a $260,000 grant into a safety net for pregnant and parenting women living with substance use disorders.

“A lot of the time, if they feel like they have to go inpatient for care to detox and then sometimes they don’t have family or support to watch their children, they end up in foster care,” said Mirisa Castellese, program lead and clinical manager of integrated care at Zepf Center.

“So, the goal is really to help them prior to having the child. We can offer prenatal care, and that way they’re more stable when the child’s born, and then they’re able to really stay connected with that child and themselves,” she said…
