TOLEDO, Ohio — A long-term acute care hospital in south Toledo will close on May 1 and lay off all of its employees on June 8, according to a notice filed with the state last week.
The decision to close Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo, owned by CommuniCare Health Services, is “part of a recent transaction,” according to the notice.
There will be 116 employees terminated as part of the closure, including 45 registered nurses, 12 certified nurse aides and 12 respiratory therapists. Only non-union employees are part of the layoffs, and there will be no bumping rights for them…
